Stress management Philadelphia

Do you feel stressed?

Are you tired all the time? Do you feel overwhelmed?  Are you feeling increasingly stressed as the weeks pass? Do small things (that use to be no big deal) make you cry, feel edgy and overwhelmed? Are you so stressed you feel paralyzed and unable to make decisions?

We’ve all been there. Stress management can help.

What is Stress Management?

Stress management is finding a way to cope with stress more effectively that takes into account your resources and priorities.

Are you doing too much?  Do you enjoy what you’re doing? Do you feel valued? Of the activities in your day, what needs to get done versus what would you like to get done?

Effective stress management takes factors like your goals, priorities, interests, time, social support, occupational demands and financial resources into account.  Once evaluated and assessed, a tailored plan is designed to fit your lifestyle.  The first step in having good stress management is having a realistic plan that is also practical.

If need be, we’ll go a step further and breakdown thinking patterns that might be interfering with your productivity. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. If your To Do List is a dozen items long, saying, “I got this,” is certainly more helpful than, “I’m never going to get through this list. It’ll never happen for me.”

Having strong self-talk is instrumental to your success.

Meditation and/or Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction also helps with stress management.  By learning how to quiet your cognitive brain through transitioning into your body, you will learn what stress feels like in your body and how to move through it.

For example, learning how to breathe correctly by giving the breath permission to move in through the nose, down the throat, passed the lungs and into the abdomen is one way to better control stress and master stress management.

Techniques like deep breathing, Meditation and Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction provide recovery time from stress in the body, boost your immune system, improve resiliency and help you manage stress more effectively day by day, task by task.

Are you ready to get started?

Working together we will find stress management techniques that work for you and fit your lifestyle. After all, if it doesn’t make sense, why do it?
